২১টি পরস্পর-সম্বন্ধিত নাতিদীর্ঘ প্রবন্ধে ‘আর্ট’ ও ৩টি দীর্ঘ প্রবন্ধে ‘বাংলার রেনসাঁস’ নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছেন অন্নদাশঙ্কর রায় তাঁর এই গ্রন্থে। দেওয়া ও পাওয়ার ছল বা উপলক্ষ্য বা মাধ্যমের নামই যে আর্ট, সে-কথা তিনি যেমন নিঃসংকোচে বলেছেন, তেমনই নির্দ্বিধায় ঘোষণা করেছেন, বাংলার রেনেসাঁস এখনও অসমাপ্ত। রবীন্দ্রনাথের অন্তর্ধানে তা নিঃশেষিত হয়নি।
