আমাদের জাতীয় জীবনে বন্দে মাতরম্ সংগীতের ভূমিকা স্মরণযোগ্য। বঙ্কিমের মৃত্যুর পর আনন্দমঠ তথা ‘বন্দে মাতরম্’ সংগীতটি বিপ্লবীদের কাছে স্বাধীনতার আন্দোলনের দ্যোতক হয়ে উঠলে শাসক শ্রেণি বন্দেমাতরম সংগীত শুধু নয় ‘বন্দে মাতরম্’ ধ্বনিও দণ্ডনীয় অপরাধ বলে ঘোষণা করেন। তবুও বিশ শতাব্দীর বিশের দশক থেকে বার বার ‘বন্দে মাতরম্’-এর বিরুদ্ধে উঠেছে সাম্প্রদায়িকতার অভি়যোগ। বিশিষ্ট প্রাবন্ধিক ও গবেষক এই গ্রন্থে বন্দে মাতরম্ বিতর্ককে গ্রন্থভুক্ত করলেন দীর্ঘদিনের শ্রমসাধ্য গবেষণায়।
This book has retrieved Kshitimohan Sen’s celebrated 1930 edition of Medieval Mysticism which was an English translation of the Bengali book, Baratiya Madhyajuge Sadhanar Dhara published by the University of Calcutta. Enriched with four invaluable appendices, the book offers two lectures to introduce both the orthodox and the liberal thinkers of medieval India.
